በቤልጂየም የሚገኙ ተመራማሪዎች ላማ ከተሰኘው እንስሳ ላይ የሚገኝ ፕሮቲን ከ60 በላይ ቫይረሶችን ሊከላከሉ እንደሚችሉ በምርምራቸው ይፋ አደረጉ፡፡

ይህ በርካታ ቫይረሶችን ሊከላከል ይችላል የተባለው ፕሮቲን በግመል ላይ እንደሚገኝ በጥናታቸው አረጋግጠዋል፡፡

ተመራማሪዎች ፕሮቲኑን አራት የተለያዩ ንጥረ ነገሮችን የያዙ የሰውነት መከላከያዎችን ከእንስሳው ደም ውስጥ በመውሰድ ከዚያም ንጥረነገሮች በማዋሃድ ነው አዲሱን ቫይረስ ተከላካይ ፕሮቲን ማግኘታቸውን የገለጹት፡፡

ሙከራው በአይጦች ላይ ለዘጠኝ ወራት መካሄዱን የጠቀሱት ተመራማሪዎቹ ፕሮቲኑን ከተሰጣቸው በኋላ ቫይረሱን መከላከል መቻላቸውን ገልጸዋል፡፡

ፕሮቲኑ በሁለት መልኩ ማለትም በመርፌ እንዲሁም ላንቃ ላይ በመርጨት መስጠታቸውንም አብራርተዋል፡፡

በተጨማሪም ተመራማሪዎቹ በአውሮፓውያኑ 1918 የዓለምን አምስት በመቶ ህዝብ መጨረሱ የሚነገርለትን ኤች1ኤን1 የተሰኘውን ቫይረስ እንደሚከላከልም በጥናታቸው ደርሰውበታል፡፡
