ከእርግዝና ተሞክሮዎች ውስጥ ሌላው አስደሳች እና አስገራሚው ጊዜ የጽንሱ እንቅስቃሴ መሰማት ነው።
በህክምና አጠራሩ (Quickening) ተብሎ የሚጠራው እንቅስቃሴ ከ16ኛው የእርግዝና ሳምንት ጀምሮ እስከ 25ኛው ሳምንት ድረስ ለመጀመሪያ ጊዜ ይሰማል።
የመጀመሪያ እርግዝና ላይ እስከ 25ኛው ሳምንት እናቲቱ ላይሰማት የሚችል ሲሆን በሁለተኛ እርግዝና ጊዜ ደግሞ 13ኛ ሳምንት ላይ ሊሰማም ይችላል። እንቅስቃሴው በጣም በስሱ የሆነ የመኮርኮር ስሜት ያለው ነው። ይህ እንቅስቃሴ በደንበኛው የሚሰማው ደግሞ ለማረፍ ተቀምጠው ወይንም ጋደም ብለው ሲሆን ነው።
እርግዝናው እየገፋ ሲሄድ በተለይም በሁለተኛው እና በሶስተኛው የእርግዝና ክፍለ ጊዜ (2nd and 3rd trimester) ይህ እንቅስቃሴ ይበልጥ ከመሰማት
ባለፈ በአይን የሚታይ ይሆናል።
የጽንስ እንቅስቃሴ በመጀመሪያው የእርግዝና ክፍለ ጊዜ (1-12 ሳምንት) አልፎ አልፎ የሚሰማን ቢሆንም ጽንሱ ባደገ ቁጥር በተለይም ሁለተኛ የእርግዝና ክፍለ ጊዜ (13-26 ሳምንት) መጨረሻ አካባቢ ጠንካራ የሆነ ምት እና ቶሎ ቶሎ የሚሰማ ይሆናል። ጥናቶች እንደሚያሳዪት ከሆነ ጽንሱ በሶስተኛው የእርግዝና ክፍለ ጊዜ በሰአት እስከ 30 ጊዜ ሊንቀሳቀስ ይችላል።
የጽንሱን እንቅስቃሴ መቁጠር አንዳንዴ በጽንሱ ላይ ችግር ካለ ቀዳሚ ጠቋሚ ሊሆን ስለሚችል ጠቃሚ ነው።
የጽንስ እንቅስቃሴን መቁጠር በሚፈልጉ ጊዜ በየቀኑ ተመሳሳይ ጊዜን ጠብቆ በመጠቀም በግራ ጎንዎ በመተኛት 10 እንቅስቃሴ ለመቁጠር ምን ያህል ሰአት እንደወሰደ ይመዝግቡ እናም ቢያንስ በሁለት ሰአታት ውስጥ 10
እንቅስቃሴዎችን ካልቆጠሩ በሚቀጥለው ቀን በተመሳሳይ ሰአት ይቁጠሩ አሁንም 10 እንቅስቃሴዎችን በሁለት ሰአታት ውስጥ ካልቆጠሩ ክትትል ወደሚያደርጉበት የህክምና ቦታ በመሄድ ሀኪምዎን ያማክሩ።
ይህ ሲባል ግን በቀን ውስጥ የጽንሱ እንቅስቃሴ የሚጨምርበትና የሚቀንስበት ሰአታት መኖራቸው ሊዘነጋ አይገባም ምክንያቱም ጽንሱ ንቁ የሚሆንበትና የሚተኛበት ጊዜ ስለሚኖረው ነው። በአብዛኛው እናቲቱ ከተመገበች በኃላ እንቅስቃሴው በድንብ እንድሚሰማ ጥናቶች ያሳያሉ።
